چکیده

Pursuant to Article 1 of the Convention signed in Paris on 14th December 1960, and which came into force on 30th September 1961, the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) shall promote policies designed: − to achieve the highest sustainable economic growth and employment and a rising standard of living in Member countries, while maintaining financial stability, and thus to contribute to the development of the world economy; − to contribute to sound economic expansion in Member as well as non-member countries in the process of economic development; and − to contribute to the expansion of world trade on a multilateral, non-discriminatory basis in accordance with international obligations.

Guidelines for thermodynamic sorption modelling in the context of radioactive waste disposal

Thermodynamic sorption models (TSMs) offer the potential to improve the incorporation of sorption in environmental modelling of contaminant migration. One specific application is safety cases for radioactive waste repositories, in which radionuclide sorption on mineral surfaces is usually described using distribution coefficients (Kd values). TSMs can be utilised to provide a scientific basis f...

اثرات ماده آلی محلول بر جذب علف‌کش سیمازین در خاک‌های مختلف

The effects of dissolved organic matter (DOM), derived from compost, on the sorption of simazine by soils were studied using a batch equilibrium technique. Six soils with different organic carbon contents were investigated in this study. Simazine sorption isotherms on soils were described by the linear equation, and the distribution coefficients without DOM (Kd) or with DOM (Kd*) were obtained....

Thermodynamic parameters of U (VI) sorption onto soils in aquatic systems

The thermodynamic parameters viz. the standard free energy (∆Gº), Standard enthalpy change (∆Hº) and standard entropy change (∆Sº) were determined using the obtained values of distribution coefficient (kd) of U (VI) in two different types of soils (agricultural and undisturbed) by conducting a batch equilibrium experiment with aqueous media (groundwater and deionised water) at two different tem...

Selective Sorption of Heavy Metal Ions from Aqueous Solutions Using m-Cresol Based Chelating Resin and Its Analytical Applications

Salicylic acid-Formaldehyde-m-Cresol (SFM) terpolymer had been synthesized in DMF media by conventional method. The resulting resin had been characterized by FTIR spectra, elemental and thermogravimetric analyses. The morphology of SFM resin had been studied by SEM and Optical photograph. Various parameters like rate of equilibration, effect of pH on ion exchange capacity and effect of conc...

Sorption of strontium and fractal scaling of the heterogeneous media in a candidate VLLW disposal site

Because of the deposit and accumulation from the debris flow, the heterogeneous geological characteristics is obvious for a candidate very low level waste (VLLW) disposal site, with the grain size ranging from tens of microns to 75 cm. Therefore, it is challenging to directly measure the sorption capacity of the media and the distribution coefficient of some radionuclides, such as strontium. We...
